Signs You Have Gophers

Tunnels:

Average about 3” in diameter
Prefer dry soil
End in many mounds—a single gopher may make up to 300 mounds a year

Mounds:

Have a characteristic “C” shape, with dirt fanning out on three sides of the hole
Unused mounds have holes plugged

Damage:

Gophers eat plants, and will clip off or pull down plants
Will gnaw around tree and bush roots
Some say that rose bushes are a favorite gopher treat
